The rise and fall of communism in Sarawak 1940-1990 / Vernon L Porritt. - Clayton Vic. : Monash University Press, 2004 - xiv, 355 p.

After the Second World War as the end of British rule in Sarawak drew closer there was increasing interest in communism particularly among young Chinese. This book provides a detailed study noting that although there were parallels with the rise of communism in China evoked by strong kinship ties with oppressed peasants there, the differences in Sarawak were considerable and were not conducive to a large scale following. The book also mentions the Brunei uprising and the links between PRB and the Communists.
