<br/><br/> Considers how Taiwan should develop its economic statecraft in view of the tangled and often unintended consequences of complex foreign policies, trade and investment patterns, and business supply chains (together described as the noodle bowl syndrome) involving Taiwan and the ASEAN member states and through them other countries. Suggests that practical integration may be achieved even though political and symbolic integration may be very difficult.
