Continues the structure of previous editions. COVERAGE: Entries detail the overall aims, origin and development, objectives, structure (including membership where appropriate), activities, chief executive's name, HQ address, phone and fax numbers, and websites of international organisations. Also contains Membership tables indicating which countries are members of which organisations; a chapter explaining the various classification schemes used by international organisations for analysis and operational purposes - for example, the division of countries into the 3 broad groups, industrial countries, countries in transition, and developing countries. ARRANGEMENT: Organisations are arranged alphabetically by name. There are several indexes: an index of foundation dates; a classified index which groups organisations as Universal, Regional or Sectional; and an index of names including those organisations which are no longer in existence, have been reorganised or renamed.
