Bombs hit US mine in Papua. - 2008

The first two bombs exploded on 11 and 12 September near the entrance to Freeport's mine owned by local Indonesia. The explosions raised tensions in the region where a peaceful pro-independence movement is active. The bombings are unlikely to result in a major crackdown on local pro-independence activists particularly since the involvement of the TPN has been widely discredited.
