<br/><br/> At present a variety of different free trade agreements (FTAs) exist in East and Southeast Asia with varying degrees of overlap and differences in tariffs, rules and standards. This article suggests these should be consolidated at the ASEAN+6 level, and that FTAs should be made more multilateral friendly.
