This article considers the inherrent difficulties such systems must overcome (very fast, very accurate radar plus trajectory calculations), describes gun based solutions (Raytheon Centurion and Rheinmetall-Oerlikon Contraves Ahead Skyshield), a possible rocket based product from Israel, and laser based concepts from Raytheon and Northrop Grumman.
