Based on personal interviews with low ranking soldiers of a large number of armies, this study reports on the evolution of soldiers unions in various countries including European states, Iran, Chile, and the Philippines.Suggest that there ia a corellation between national affluence and soldier resistance. As countries get richer, soldiers unionise.
