Three years after publication of Brunei's first defence white paper in 2004 this update identifies the overview and specific measures and programmes that will guide the development of Brunei's defence capability in the coming years. Against the background of natural disasters in the region the RBAF is looking for flexibility, joint operations capability, plus rapid and integrated response capabilities (national and international). This will be achieved by developing Joint Operations Command, applying C4I, acquiring relevant defence platforms and equipment, improving internal processes and structures, and enhancing and expanding training, education, and research functions.
