This book has two objective which is to explain how the Germans and Austrians re-establish their air forces from 1930 onwards and secondly how the Luftwaffe was used in both peace and war. This include the Nazi's rise to power as a turning point. By 1932 Luftwaffe existed. It covers in detail the Sitzkrieg and the Western Campaign, which is a first attempt at strategic air defence with a plausable mention not only in aviation but also the importance of groundcrews, the signallers and the supply organisation to provide a comprehensive understanding of this subject and its leadership.
