It is designed to perform attack missions in the shallow waters of the littoral zone. The prolonged submerged ability means that the submarines do not need to surface for air and therefore risk detection. The submarines will have excellent stealth capabilities and undertake super silent maneuvers in Southeast Asia's shallow waters.
