COVERAGE AND ARRANGEMENT:Covers 2 broad equipment categories: Simulators and training equipment; and the systems which are used as major components of the Simulation and training equipment itself.Simulation systems comprise 4 sections: Image Generation (IG) systems, which includes systems designed for fast data update rates of rich scene detail and the higher end of computer graphics and modelling tools; Visual Display Systems, which includes Virtual reality systems and incorporates large projection theatres and dome systems; Motion cueing systems, which includes motion platforms which physically move the simulators in one or more of the six Degrees of Freedom (DoF) and motion seats which give a number of cues for motion; and Other simulator components which includes control devices and panels, instrumented gloves, sound and audio systems, and tracking sensor systems.Simulators and training devices are divided into 4 main sections which cover: Land-based equipment; Ship and sea systems equipment; Aircraft and aviation equipment; and equipment which could be multirole - used in two or more of the land, sea or air environments.
