COVERAGE AND ARRANGEMENT: Provides illustrated details of the world's military radars and electronic warfare systems. Three main sections: 1. Radar Systems which includes land-based air defence radars; battlefield, missile control and ground surveillance radars; naval/coastal surveillance and navigation radars; naval fire control radars; airborne surveillance, maritime patrol and navigation radars; airborne fire-control radars; Identification Friend-or-Foe (IFF) and Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) systems; military air traffic control (ATC), instrumentation and ranging radars. 2. Electronic Warfare Systems including land-based SIGnal INTelligence (SIGINT), electronic support and threat-warning systems; land-based active and passive countermeasures systems and Defence Aids Suites (DAS); naval SIGINT, electronic support and threat-warning systems; naval active and passive countermeasures systems and DAS; airborne SIGINT, electronic support and threat-warning systems; airborne active and passive countermeasures systems and DAS. 3. Radar and Electronic Warfare Simulation and Training Systems. Within each subject area entries are arranged alphabetically under country of manufacture. Individual entries comprise: Title - service designation and/or commercial name given to the particular piece of equipment; Type; Description; Operational status; Specifications; and Contractor. Tables also provide information on the radar and electronic countermeasures fits of the world's submarines and surface ship inventories. All vessels are identified by their country of service and class name. Indexes by manufacturer's name, country of origin and equipment name indexes appear at the end of the book.
