Major General F W von Mellenthin ended the war as Chief of Staff 4th German Panzer Army. He served throughout the course of the war and saw action in almost every land operation Germany conducted from Russia to the deserts of North Africa. The book deals with armoured warfare and is written from the German point of view, however the author has also drawn on British and American sources to give balance.
