It covers the campaigns in Palestine in 1947, and then in succession those in Malaya, Kenya, Northern Ireland. In the main it covers counter insurgency operations and therefore excludes such campaigns the Korean war which involved orther armies. The story of the British army since the end of the war Europe. It describes twelve campaigns spread accross the thirty eight years which elapsed following the end of World War II and in doing so it gives the reader a chance to get the feel of some of the events which have made the British army what it is today.
