COVERAGE: An annual review of Asia-Pacific defence trends, primarily in the defence industry and in procurement. Includes overview articles on particular topics as well as directories of armed forces and defence companies in the Region. The Asia-Pacific region coverage is very wide and includes e.g. Gulf countries, Britain and France. However, Brunei is not included. ARRANGEMENT:Arranged in 7 main sections; The first section comprises 9 overview articles on Regional defence topics such as strategic developments, ASEAN, Indonesia - democracy and ABRI reform; The second section includes articles on the general theme of defence - for example, terrorism in the Region, nuclear weapons developments, challenges facing the Australian army; The third and fourth sections review developments in the Australian defence industry; The fourth section provides a directory of Regional Defence Forces arranged alphabetically by country name. Each country entry includes brief national statistics, defence force personnel statistics and overviews of force structures and equipment for army, air force and navy. The fifth section provides more detail on the Australian armed forces; The final section is a directory of Australian defence industry products and services, with profiles of companies and their representatives. There is also a short directory of 'overseas defence contractors' and a subject directory arranged alphabetically by product and service name.
