An analysis of the relationship between defence spending and economic development (sometimes described as the security-prosperity dilemma). The study attempts to discover whether and to what extent the "peace dividend" expected with the ending of the Cold War actually exists, and whether the positive or negative effects are related to to the level of economic development of a country.
