Volume 1 contains a comprehensive listing of more than 1,650 international organizations and the first part of the alphabetical survey of countries of the world. The International Organizations section gives extensive coverage to the United Nations and its related agencies. There are also detailed articles concerning more than 50 major international organizations - including the World Trade Organization, the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Briefer details of more than 1,000 other international organizations appear in a separate section.INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONSDetailed entries for international organizations variously include contact details, brief history, membership, organization, activities, finance, allied or associated organizations' contact details, and publications.
