COVERAGE AND ARRANGEMENT:Geopolitics can be defined simply as 'the geographic dimension of foreign policy' or as 'international statecraft, from the perspective of each state', so that many different schools of geopolitical thought emerge. The geopolitics covered in this dictionary only concerns the schools that are associated with the putative great powers of the twentieth century, with the exception of China and the former USSR, where geopolitical ideology was associated with Western imperialism.
