The story of George Ray Tweed, who was one of the few hundred American navy men stationed on Guam when the Japanese invaded in 1941. For two and a half years Tweed evaded capture and was eventually rescued by American warships preparing for the recapture of the island. This 50th anniversary edition contains additional biographical information about George Tweed after his return to America.
