Armed with information about the structural characteristics of illicit drug flow, interdiction efforts can be targeted to have maximum effect provided that analysis considers the dynamic nature of operations, and correctly identifies critical actors associated with specific crime problems. The current study makes a unique contribution towards understanding the structural differences associated with travel modalities by comparing the structure of land-based and sea-based drug distribution chains supplying methamphetamine to Indonesian markets.
