Argues that leadership is not automatically good or beneficial, and that bad leadership is not an aberration but is a ubiquitous and insidious part of everyday life. Both forms of leadership exist and share many similarities although, the author suggests, there has been too little acknowledgement of this facet. After a summary of the main points of political philosophy relating to leadership, the book identifies, with examples, seven different types of bad leadership ranging from incompetent to evil, and concludes with some thoughts on what can be done about bad leadership.
