From the Tay Son Rebellion in 1772 through the Sino-Vietnamese War of 1979, a complete history of the Indochina Wars is herein presented. Part One examines the wars of conquest and colonialism (e.g., the Tonkin War and the Vietnamese resistance against the French). Part Two concentrates on the Vietnam War from 1957 through 1975 that involved mostly the United States. In Part Three, the other Indochina Wars in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand are covered. The focus is on statistical analyses of each conflict, particularly on unit strengths and casualties, presented in a narrative form.
