Martin and Gracia Burnham were taken hostage along with fifteen other people from the Dos Palmas tourist resort on Palawan Island. In this first hand account Gracia Burnham describes their captivity for over a year in the hands of the Abu Sayaaf terrorist group in the southern Philippines, during which time other hostages were also taken. During the rescue operation in which Gracia is freed her husband dies of gunshot wounds.
