First published 2002 as "Mein leben ist eine waffe" by Bertelsmann, Munich, Germany. Based on extensive interviews and research this book attempts to understand what motivates suicide bombers, the deliberate role of al Qaeda and the unintended role of Western foreign policies, and how attitudes toward suicide bombing change with time noting that in Iran, where the practice was enthusiastically supported only decades ago, it is now renounced.
