The China Quarterly March 2014, pp.140-161 (17)Summary: Using case studies of Cambodia, Mongolia, and Nepal this article demonstrates that China's economic relations with small Asian states have a destabilising effect on them in economic, political, environmental, societal and military sectors. Furthermore this impact is subsequently projected back as a negative influence on China's own strategic position.
