Considers the implications of the increasing range and accuracy of ballistic missiles for Australia's defence. Given that a system like the US National Missile Defense program is beyond Australia's means, this paper suggests that a solution lies in adding theatre ballistic missile defense capabilities to the RAN's new class of air warfare destroyers.
