Based mainly on declassified documents this is a very detailed account of some of the remarkable technical achievements (and thier sometimes unexpected spin-offs) of the CIA's Directorate of Science and Technology. These included the U2 spyplane, the CORONA satellite, and UAVs. More recently attention hs been focussed on Internet tools such as multi-lingual search engines, automated data analysis systems, as well as means of covering the CIA's own tracks in cyberspace.
