This paper looks at the regional emergence of strategic missiles. This is at a period between the rise of regionalism and the proliferation of strategic missiles. It evaluates the chances and responses to the strategic missile capabilities in Australia's region. The paper looks about particular capabilities of weapons in various countries. It lists out the capabilities in several countries that are actively militaire. In particular are strategic missile capabilities because of their simplicity and prestige it holds for governments. This paper also looks at the problems with non-proliferation and arms control, defensive defense and offensive defence. The team approach, where countries hold forums and treaties, and initiate initiatives to control weapons.
