It looks at the effect of soft balancing between these two nations in the international arena. It also argues that soft balancing takes place only when one nation's national interest gets violated by another. The intervention in Kosovo that happened in 1999, the war in Afghanistan in 2001, and the 2003 Iraq War are some of the events that are being looked at in this article.
