An annual retrospective review and assessment of security related events around the world. The first section covers strategic policy issues (Counterterrorism the impact of the Afghan model; missile defence after 11 September; the international oil supply and demand situation; and the United Nations and state building). Subsequent sections examine issues at a regional level. The Asia section covers the Korean peninsula, South Asia, security in Indonesia and counterterrorism in Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Afghanistan, and hopes for resolution of the long running conflicts in Sri Lanka and Nepal.
