"This study contends that the Royal Australian Navy did not always give sufficient consideration to the provision of intelligence support in planning and conducting combat operations" (from book's own abstract p. vii). However based on numerous examples the book argues that despite lack of accurate intelligence RAN commanders were on occassion able to overcome these handicaps by drawing on their training and experience to successfully complete their missions.
