Biography of Sir Redvers Buller who was one of Britain's most popular military heroes of the nineteenth century. As British commander-in-chief in the first few battles of the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902) he became the victim of public prejudice and a scapegoat for the errors and defects in British strategy when faced with a modern well trained and well equipped adversary.
