History of the naval expeditions undertaken and trade routes established by the south Indian Chola dynasty with China and Southeast Asia during the early part of the eleventh century. Chola King Rajendra I claimed to have conquered port cities of the Srivijaya kingdom on the Malay Peninsula and Sumatra around 1025.
