520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Thailand's coup was about reestablishing the royalist-military power elite in place of a maturing democratic political system. Events since the overthrow of the elected Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawtra, including the elections scheduled for December 2007, are no more than window dressing to obscure the military take over of power. This article concludes the country has taken a serious step back in its political and security development and that this coup is unlikely to be the last.
