Summary, etc. Investigation of the ballistic performance of particulate silicone carbide (SiC) and SiC-cement against a 7.62mm AP equivalent projectile. Results showed ballistic performance improved as the void ratio of the composites was lowered. The void ratio could be reduced by adding cement to the SiC mix without significantly increasing density.
