The fundamental argument made was that, in a world of complex, networked, and digital ships, the standard concept of platform survivability that focuses on physical susceptibility and vulnerability fails to address the cyber risk in a modern ship. Older approaches to cybersecurity that focused on perimeter or boundary defense are no longer adequate in modern control system environments. |
