Summary, etc. This paper identifies two significant phenomena regarding these security arrangements, drawing upon why the USA has maintained strong social contract activity with the ROK, whereas the PRC-DPRK social contract activity has only recently been reinvigorated. Social contract activity is defined as the degree of commitment to maintaining the hierarchical relationship manifested in a social contract, ranging from active to inactive.
