Based on a workshop whose aim was "to examine the interplay of political, military, and other factors that govern the ways by which ships of different navies can work together" and specifically "to examine a preceived gap between theory and practice." Three issues directly related to the planning for and mounting of multinational naval operations are examined: the interaction of military and political planning criteria and concepts; civil-military relations in the command structure, especially in the UN system; and the impact on media planning and operations. |
