COVERAGE AND ARRANGEMENT:Contains information on airborne electronic equipment for both military and civil craft. Equipment included is in development, production or service and operated in manned aircraft. Avionics equipment for unmannned aircraft is not included. There are 12 main sections based on the function of the systems: Communications; Maritime operations; Radar, GPWS and TCAS systems; Electro-optics; Electronic warfare; Data handling; Data recording; Navigation and nav/attack; Flight management and control; Cockpit displays, instruments and indicators; Head-up displays, helmet-mounted displays and weapon aiming sights; and Stores management.Within each main section entries are arranged alphabetically by country of manufacture. For each country entries are attributed to a contractor, and contractors are listed alphabetically. The entries for each contractor are sub-arranged alphabetically and contain the following detail: Title; Narrative - funtion, development and technical description; Operational status; and Contractor details. There are 3 indexes: a Contractors index which gives contact details; an alphabetical index to entries; and a Manufacturers index to entries. |
