Summary, etc. | "Will the intensified conflicts between the USA and China inevitably lead to a global conflagration? If recent past history is any indication, the answer is a resounding yes." So opens this article, which draws on Marxist imperialism theory, to assess the tensions between the rising and dynamic imperial power of China and the established but static imperial power of the United States. The former is using economic opportunities and its diaspora to further growth and extend influence; the latter relies on expensive militarism and trade restrictions neither of which produce benefits, while a highly influential Zionist lobby ensures the USA continues to support Israel despite this not being in America's best interests. |
