The ROK navy's current coastal defence structure will be upgraded to a force structure that can actively safeguard the national interests in all fronts. The current force structure of three fleets, a submarine flotilla and an aviation flotilla will be reorganised into three fleets. New and more capable vessels will be introduced new generation frigates.
