Under the second Bush administration the USA, with UK's silent acquiescence, now seems to feel constrained by international law and is willing to flout or ignore those aspects it does not like. This book sets out the case for global rules, asks why America and Britain seem to want to discard some of the old rules, and what the implications of that abandonment might be. Appendices give the full text of several international agreements from the Atlantic Charter 1941, to the Kyoto Protocol 1997.
