A biography of Harold K Johnson, an American soldier who earned high posts in the US Army including as Chief of Staff in 1964. He was a Japanese POW in the Philippines during the Second World War in 1942 and survived 3 years. He also served as a field commander in the Korean War. These experiences earned him several high-level positions including his final appointment as Chief of Staff. He was well-known for his views in the ways that the US top officials was running the war in Vietnam in which he fundamentally disagreed with them.
