First F-35 for South Korea rolled out/ Gareth Jennings - 2018

In September 2014 South Korea approved a deal to acquire 40 F-35As for about USD6.8 billion. The F-35 made its national debut at the recent Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition (ADEX), when two aircraft from the US Air Force (USAF) appeared in the static display in October 2017. The first RoKAF F-35s will arrive in-country in 2019, to be operated out of South Korea's main operational base at Cheongju.
