With terrorism remaining to be a major security concern, the author examines the problems of collating and interpreting indications and warning before recent attacks in France and Belgium. He describes the incidents as a classic case of information overkill where most important linkages were lost in the sheer mass of available information and further complicated by the inherent inefficiencies of intelligence groups on transfer of data across national boundaries and between domestic law enforcement agencies.
