Soviet espionage in Israel, 1973-1991/ Shlomo Shpiro - 2015

This article examines KGB espionage operations in Israel between the 1973 Yom Kippur War and the 1991 breakup of the Soviet Union. It argues that the partial failure of the KGB's massive Humint operation against Israel stemmed both from ideologically-biased preconceptions and flawed tradecraft, and from Israel's effective counterintelligence service and its cooperation with the West.
