'Spring' ex machina: catalytic warfare, Iraq syndrome and the 'Arab Spring' / Allan Orr. - 2013

Argues that it was the toppling of Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq by foreign forces which prepared the way for the subsequent Arab Spring revolutions. The article considers political developments, how the Arab Spring was and is represented in the mass media. Concludes by posing teh question if it is true that war was the catalyst for change then surely the approach ought to be continued.
