This article expolores of military conflict on the relationship and relative powers on the three branches of state and the implications for the UK. It is also explores the implications for governmentality the ability of the state to secure loyalty and compliance to its goals. This article demostrates that the UK has witnessed a transformation of the state across several dimensions of governance. It has led to a reallocation of powers and recalibration of relative authority across the three branches of the state.
