Political situation and global recession hit Thai defence budget/ Isaak Zulkarnaen - 2009
Global recession together with Thailand's political instability forced its government to slash the defence budget for 2009-2010 from an initial allocation of 171 billion baht to 151 billion baht, as announced in May 2009. This has caused a significant effect to defence procurement further affecting the defence ability to protect the nation's security.
