The OSCE experience with surplus small arms and ammunition / Yuri Kryvonos and Elli Kytomaki - 2008
Based on case studies of Belarus and Tajikistan this article reports that destruction is the most desirable way to dispose of surplus small arms and conventional ammunition. This method avoids the risk of weapons and ammuntion being diverted into illegal markets. The OSCE has been instrumental in assisting member states deal with the problem of surplus arms.
